Once upon a time in a small Indiana town, a baby was born. No, wait...make that two babies. As the identical girls grew up they developed rather peculiar habits.
The one known as Jean wore ribbons of spaghetti in her hair & used the glowin' behinds of fireflies as face paint. Jane, on the other hand, spent hours counting Raisinettes, carefully biting them in half & trading the smaller versions to her young cousins for full-sized M&Ms.
"Miraculous," said the townsfolk. "Jean has a right brain, Jane has a left.
Something big is bound to happen..."
Presto...glamo!...it did. The Ford twins began creating cosmetics in the late 70s after achieving success as commercial models & makeup artists.
During their professional careers dabbling in all things beauty, Jean & Jane were inspired to open a neighbourhood makeup boutique in San Francisco.
What began as an impetuously fun neighbourhood venture (a veritable "beauty locker room" for bonding over gloss & gossip) has grown into something grand & global.
The Fords have expanded their sister-centric legacy to include Maggie & Annie Ford Danielson, Jean's daughters, Jane's nieces & Benefit's Global Beauty Authorities & HSN Ambassadors.
This second generation of sisters learned to wield mascara wands & lipstick bullets as children & credit their artistic talents to a lifetime of playing with powder & paint.
They add fuel to the fun with style, sophistication & an inherent ability to make lifelong friends through makeup.
The foursome is synonymous with high energy, humor & instant beauty fixes that run the gamut from benetint (rose tinted cheek stain) to lemon aid (color correcting eyelid primer).
Magazine editors have often declared Benefit the most "action-packed" brand in the business, famed for playful packaging, snappy monikers & a feel-good philosophy.
When Jean, Jane, Maggie & Annie are in the same room, insider secrets & artist tricks bounce off the walls at lightning speed until someone has an industry-shaking "aha!" moment. Most days, they can barely keep up with themselves!
